Watch What You Say! Speak In Definitive Language. Believe it or not, most people like to follow instead of lead. It’s much more inspiring to follow a leader that speaks with a level of certainty, confidence, and direction. Eliminate words like try, not sure, can’t, shouldn’t from your language. You’ll gain more attention and also train your subconscious to help you align your actions with forward thinking and forward movement.

Business Tip of the Day: Refine Your Marketing Message When You’re Not Making Money. Oftentimes, when we're not attracting leads over an extended period of time, it's because people are confused about what you do. Forbes Riley says something that I’ll never forget, “Confused Minds Don’t Buy”. When something doesn’t work try something new. Text your messages and see what resonates. Do people look at you confused when you talk about your business? Do they ask you several follow up questions? Do colleagues send you the right type of referrals? Do people inquire about your services? These are all indicators of whether you are saying the right thing and clear about who your audience is.

Business Tip of the Day: State The Facts, Not The Excuses. This wasn’t always easy in my first years in business. However, in my personal experience as a consultant and business owner for over 19 years, I have observed that I gain much more respect from my clients and maintain longer term relationships for taking responsibility for delays or unexpected occurrences rather than defending my position. I commit to high quality work on problem solving, this saves my clients time and builds trust. Never blame your client or circumstances. Just fix the issue.
