Following Intuition to Attract a Good Day

I love how my morning has started out.

There were painters taping up the windows because they were getting ready to paint the house. Turns out they taped up the front door too. I needed to leave from the garage and didn’t have a control. So I pressed the button to close the garage, sprinted and hopped over the garage sensor like I was doing double dutch. I was proud of myself.

My typical routine is to drive to the office and today something told me to work elsewhere for a couple hours. I texted my business partner, Lauren to let her know then drove off to Whole Foods in Oakland. I figured maybe this would also force me to buy some veggies to cook for the week. I bought veggies, a little Kor Shots Vitality turmeric shot (which ended up being really good, by the way) and sat in the cafe.

I choose to sit at the long table a couple seats from a gentlemen that was engaged in typing onto his phone. I engaged him in conversation.

Me: “Good Morning!” with a smile on my face hoping that he would hear, I tend to talk quietly.

Him: (his face totally lit up) – “Thank you so much for that! You have no idea how grateful I am. May I buy you something? Something to drink, a croissant, a donut?”

Me: “Wow, you’re speaking my language! I LOVE donuts.”

Him: “Great, what kind do you want? Can I buy you anything else?”

And just like that… I had two donuts and made a new friend. We introduced ourselves then had a conversation. Turns out when I sat down and greeted he was in the middle of texting his divorce lawyer. He was enthused that I said hello because that was way more exciting then what he was doing. We talked about various things for about 5 minutes.

I talked about the beauty of my relationship and why I’m in it.

He shook my hand, looked into my eyes and said, “Congratulations, I am happy for you and remember… No matter what… Always remember that love is the goal. It doesn’t matter what he says, anyone else says. Love is always the goal. Focus on that. Take care and wish you the best.”

I was so moved.

I’ve never come to Whole Foods to sit and work. Only to shop.

I followed my intuition, attracted 2 donuts, a new friend and some great advice. I’m glad I’m here. Now onto my list of projects for the day.
